If you have been wronged by a company or organisation, you may not be alone. Stacks are the experts in NSW class action legal cases and are on your side every step of the way.
Perhaps the perfect example of what 'people power' can do, class action lawsuits have been an important part of the legal system in Australia since 1992. If you find yourself in a situation where you wish to take legal action against a corporation, government body, company or even your employer because of something they have done that you believe to be unlawful, then the specialists at Stacks Law Firm can help.
What are Class actions?
Class actions, also sometimes known as Representative Proceedings, are a special type of lawsuit in which one individual plaintiff represents a larger group of at least 7 or more people in a legal case. The group of people represented by the individual is referred to as 'the class'.
Class actions arise when a number of people have a legal case they wish to resolve. Class actions allow legal disputes to be resolved in a single case, rather than with multiple individual proceedings.
For example, all members of a neighborhood may take legal action against their local council, or a large group of employees may sue their employer for purposes resulting from illegal or unlawful actions (such as discrimination). The large majority of class actions in Australia are for product liability or industrial/workplace claims.
