Nobody likes surprises on their bills, so we take the time to understand your legal problem and agree exactly what our work will cost before we do it (not after!).

We believe that our fee agreements should be transparent and that the value of a legal service should always be greater than the price paid.

We like to work with clients to find the fee arrangements that best work for them in the circumstances. There are many different type of fee arrangements that we offer for different types of matters, including:

Fixed fee
This is where we agree the scope of the matter with you and fix the costs in advance to give you complete price certainty. Fixed fees are generally offered for transactional legal services, such as conveyancing or estate planning work. While not generally offered for litigation claims, we’re open to discussing this with you.

Time billed
This is where our legal services are provided on a timed basis and we charge you fees based on the amount of time we spend on your matter. For time billed matters, we will always work with you to understand the outcome you’re seeking and provide you with an estimate of the costs, which will be agreed with you before we start work on your matter.(not after!)

For personal injury cases against an insurance company, we generally offer "no win no fee" fee arrangements. That means if we don’t achieve a successful outcome for you then we won’t charge you any fees – a rare event at our firm because we will tell you upfront if we think your case has problems. We also generally pay for all your outgoing costs throughout the claim, such as disbursements for medical reports. Note: In NSW workers compensation matters, once a matter has been accepted by the Workers Compensation Independent Review Office (WIRO) our fees are normally paid by them – not you – irrespective of the outcome.
