Sally is General Counsel at Stacks Law Firm, and the firm’s medical negligence lawyer. She is based in the Sydney office and has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of New South Wales. She was admitted as a solicitor in 1999 and is a member of the Law Society of NSW.
Sally brings extensive experience from her tenure at previous law firms across NSW. She led the NSW medical negligence practice group at her previous law firm, where she successfully revitalised the practice, positioning the firm as a leader in the field. Sally also played a pivotal role in rebuilding and managing the Sydney branch’s institutional abuse and personal injury law practice areas.
Sally has litigated in most Australian Courts, including the High Court of Australia. In NSW she has represented clients in the District Court, the Supreme Court, the Equity Division of the Supreme Court and the Supreme Court of NSW Court of Appeal. She has also litigated in the Supreme Court of the ACT, the Supreme Court of Queensland, the District Court of Western Australia and the Supreme Court of South Australia.
Sally initiated and led the nation’s first medical cosmetic representative proceeding in the Supreme Court of NSW, involving four corporate entities, twelve medical practitioners and three professional indemnity insurers.
Sally’s expertise extends to medical negligence law with respect to a wide range of health practitioners such as chiropractors, pharmacists, dentists, physiotherapists, psychologists, radiographers, nurses and massage therapists.
Sally’s skills have been recognised multiple times. She was named one of Doyle’s Leading Medical Negligence Lawyers in NSW in 2015 and 2016; and was listed as a Recommended Medical Negligence Lawyer in NSW and Australia from 2017 to 2020. From 2021 to 2023, she was again recognised as one of Doyle’s Leading Medical Negligence Lawyers in NSW and a Recommended Medical Negligence Lawyer in Australia.
Sally is a frequent media contributor, raising public awareness and advocating for law reform. Her insights have been featured in the Sydney Morning Herald, the Daily Telegraph, The Australian, Channel 7 News, ABC Four Corners, Ten Eyewitness News, ABC 7.30 Report, 2GB’s Tuesday legal segment, and 60 Minutes with Ray Martin.
Sally is known for her exemplary work ethic and tenacity, consistently delivering outstanding results for her clients. She was drawn to a legal career from a young age to pursue legal justice for those who could not access it themselves.
Sally speaks Arabic and can assist Arabic-speaking clients of the firm.
With young adult children, family time is paramount in Sally’s life. She also enjoys exercising whenever she gets the opportunity, engaging in many outdoor activities, including swimming and learning how to surf.
