Grant specialises in compensation law, handling claims for individuals arising from work and motor vehicle accidents, and conducting public liability matters. Prior to joining the team at Stacks, he worked for compensation firm G H Healy and Co in Sydney. Grant is a Law Society Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury, and has served on the NSW Australian Lawyers Alliance Committee (2008/2009). With 17 years’ experience, Grant is a respected solicitor with a comprehensive knowledge of compensation law.
Grant is an expert at gauging whether a case is likely to succeed or not, and believes in keeping his clients completely informed throughout the legal process. He sees his role as maximising the rights and entitlements of workers in industrial accidents, and has a caring and compassionate approach to accident victims. Grant has conducted numerous catastrophic injury cases, often achieving a successful financial outcome for his clients.
He is currently conducting a matter involving a client whose arm was crushed in an accident at work when a car fell off a tow truck; the case being particularly challenging due to a debate arising about whether it was a work or a motor vehicle accident, which could affect the client’s financial entitlement significantly. Grant achieved a successful outcome for his client in reported case Thackam v Kempsey District Hospital, a workers compensation matter that went to the Court of Appeal.
The father of three, outside of the office Grant is kept busy ferrying his school-aged children to various soccer, rugby league and swimming competitions throughout northern NSW, and is often involved in fundraising activities for the local primary school. When he has a spare moment, he has a passion for restoring cars.
Grant’s easygoing personality and his commitment to achieving the best outcome for each individual client has resulted in a number of repeat clients and numerous referrals to family members and friends. He is a valued member of the Stacks team.
