The seventh member of Taree’s well known Stack family has joined Stacks Law Firm.
Nathan Stack, 31, son of Tim Stack OAM and younger brother of Justin Stack, managing director of the law firm, has just graduated with a law degree and started work at the 85 year old family firm.
“I grew up in Taree but have been living in Byron Bay for the past six years while doing my degree – as well as a fair bit of surfing and travelling,” Nathan Stack said.
“Now I’ve come home and it’s time to get serious. I am the sixth out of seven children of Tim Stack and always wanted to work with my dad and brother Justin.
“I am proud of what my family have built up in this law firm and I’m looking forward to being part of it.”
The law firm was founded in 1931 by Edward ‘Ray’ Raymond Stack. He hung up his shingle in the country town of Wingham where he was the only lawyer in town. It was the Great Depression and times were tough, but Ray Stack was committed to helping the local community and worked in the town for the next 50 years
His sons Ray, Maurie and Tim joined their father’s firm and set up practice in Taree. Over time their sons Justin, Paul, Ben and now Nathan joined the firm and together they built it up to become one of Australia’s largest and most respected legal practices.
Stacks Law Firm has grown to a thriving network of offices with more than 250 staff in regional centres across NSW and Queensland as well as a major office in Sydney. All the law practices work on the same principles established by E.R. Stack in 1931 – work hard for the local community with a caring, friendly approach to helping clients with the legal problems.
Proud father Tim Stack OAM, chairman of the law firm and well known in Taree for his work with the Eisteddfod, said he was enormously pleased Nathan had decided to join the firm.
“I think every father would be proud to see his children carry on the work his family started, and Nathan and his third generation of Stacks lawyers will build on the legacy of service to the community that my father began 85 years ago.” Mr Stack said.
