Robert is the Managing Director of Stacks Law Firm in Port Macquarie, where he has worked for 17 years. He was admitted as a solicitor in 1997, having completed his law degree while working full-time as a law clerk at a large Sydney law firm. During his time there, he worked on many commercial matters in commercial litigation, building and construction litigation, debt recovery, property law and elder law.
With an additional degree in financial management, Robert brings together legal expertise and commercial accounting knowledge to assist his clients in making informed decisions about their commercial activities and personal assets.
Robert’s expertise, particularly in contract law, business law, building and construction law and commercial transactions complements his advice to clients on their corporate and commercial ventures. It enables him to draft contracts that reduce the risk of future misinterpretation and breaches.
When his clients need advice on their commercial ventures, Robert advises them on the most suitable legal structure. He drafts and negotiates their commercial documentation, including partnership and business agreements, shareholder agreements, funded business succession agreements and trusts, as well as other business agreements, such as leases and contracts.
Robert also has extensive experience in estate planning, which incorporates drafting wills, including testamentary trusts, and providing estate planning advice. He has given numerous presentations to groups on the importance of wills, testamentary trusts, powers of attorney, enduring guardianship, estate planning and wealth protection strategies.
Robert practices extensively in the area of will disputes and challenges to wills. He has acted for estates in upholding the will, as well as for people who have been left out of a will.
Robert has acted in multi-million dollar estate disputes and has extensive knowledge and experience in this field. His practical approach and commercial advice in acting in these matters ensure the best result possible is achieved for his clients.

When not working, Robert loves beach life and surfing. He is an active member of the local surf lifesaving club.
