Lesley is Special Counsel in the Taree office of Stacks Law Firm. Lesley has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Law from Rhodes University in Grahamstown (South Africa) and a Master of Law from Jesus College at Cambridge University (United Kingdom).
Lesley was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales in 2000. She is a member of the Law Society of NSW and has extensive experience working as a sole practitioner, as well as for other law firms.
Lesley works in property law. She enjoys assisting clients with the sale and purchase of residential properties, as well as other types of property. Her experience extends to commercial law, including leasing, sale of businesses and property-related matters.
Lesley likes working in these areas of law because she enjoys the interactions with clients, particularly as buying new properties or achieving a good sale are generally positive experiences for the client.
Before moving to Australia, Lesley worked on large residential property developments in Johannesburg, South Africa, acting on behalf of developers and large banks.
Lesley also works in probate and the administration of estates. She has assisted in the preparation and execution of wills, powers of attorney (POA) and enduring guardianship (EG), and has assisted with a number of applications for probate.
Lesley is well organised. She enjoys communicating with clients and keeping them up to date on the progress of their matter. If a problem arises, or she anticipates a potential problem, Lesley deals with it as a matter of priority to resolve it and avoid obstacles or delays.
Having always had a strong interest in history and languages, Lesley has a good understanding of Afrikaans and can speak basic French. She decided in high school that she would like to study law.
Outside of work, Lesley enjoys walking, including taking on the challenge of the Cancer Council’s 7 Bridges Walk, which is a 28 km walk for cancer research. She also enjoys playing card games and is a beginner learner of bridge.
Together with her husband, Lesley is completing the renovation of a 1966 caravan and is planning to do some local trips with their two dogs, Jock, a long-haired Jack Russell, and Poppy, a miniature schnauzer.
A recent tree change from Sydney to a farm in Hannam Vale is allowing Lesley’s husband to build up his Black Angus herd and beehives. They now run a farm stay cottage on Airbnb.
