Elizabeth is a solicitor in the Laurieton office. She was admitted as a solicitor in October of 2015 and is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales.
Elizabeth started her legal career as a volunteer legal assistant at the Mid North Coast Community Legal Centre while studying for her undergraduate degrees. She was subsequently employed there as a Client Services and Administration Assistant. In early 2015, Elizabeth joined Higgins & Dix Lawyers in Laurieton as a law clerk and has been working there as a solicitor since being admitted. In 2019 she graduated with a Master of Legal Practice from the Australian National University.
Elizabeth has mainly worked in property law and in wills and estates. She is also gaining experience in other aspects of commercial law, including business sales and purchases, and commercial leasing. She is very interested in further developing her experience in these areas, as she enjoys sitting down with her clients and helping them to achieve their goals and assisting them through what can be difficult times in their life.
In the office, Elizabeth took responsibility for spearheading the implementation of electronic conveyancing within the firm and has enjoyed keeping up with these new technological advances.
Elizabeth finds the best part of being a lawyer is being able to help her clients and build a rapport with them throughout the matter. She aims to communicate the legal issues in plain English and – depending on the matter – will try and keep things light for the client as well. Elizabeth is an empathetic person with a positive outlook.
Outside of work, Elizabeth describes herself as a bit of a foodie and you can usually find her on a weekend either cooking up a storm or trying somewhere new to eat out.
